Projects & Improvements

Fundación Aladina has officially turned 10 years old. It’s been an important decade full of hard work and effort that’s resulted in substantial investments, all with one primary goal in mind: to improve the lives of children and teenagers suffering from cancer.

Our biggest project yet, and undoubtedly the one we’re most proud of, is the Maktub Center at the Hospital Niño Jesús in Madrid. With an investment of 500,000 euros, Maktub was inaugurated on February 7th, 2013. It’s now a pioneering center in the field of bone marrow transplants in Spain and is fully equipped with the advanced technology needed to carry out an average of 50 transplants a year.

Aladina also pays special attention to families with limited resources. The foundation helps them cover necessary costs for wigs, wheelchairs, and any other expenses related to the illness.

“We would like to express our gratitude for the donation of the TV for the Pediatric Day Hospital. The patients love it and it helps us too, because while they’re busy watching it and having fun, we seize the moment to do the stuff they like the least. We thank you from the bottom of our heart!”
