Become a bone marrow donor
HOW CAN YOU BECOME A BONE MARROW DONOR?
Anyone between 18 and 55 years of age may become a marrow donor. To become a member of the Registro Español de Donantes de Médula Ósea (REDMO), you just need to have a small blood test done at a transfusion center, which is tested for compatibility using HLA (the main histocompatibility system).
The results of this analysis will determine the compatibility between two people. In the event that the donor is compatible, and thus, a a potential donor for a patient, further analyses are carried out if the donation is approved.
In order to do a compatability test, you must call for an appointment. At the appointment, you will be required to sign a consent form.

DONATE BLOOD
Regular blood donations are incredibly important. We need to be able to guarantee their availability at any time and anywhere. We need your help!
Safe blood saves lives. Blood is used every day to treat cancer patients, people undergoing surgery, and accident victims, among others. The blood donation process takes an average of 20 minutes, and the results of the blood test will then be sent to the donor’s chosen address.
There is an extensive network of both permanent and mobile donation units. To find one is near to you, visit:
