Our hero of the month is Mara Moreno Pérez Cejuela. This sweet skater is a great student, and on top of that is fighting leukemia. She told us about how her fight is going:
“Hello, I’m Mara and I’m 9 years old. I’ve been in the hospital for 3 months because I have an illness called leukemia.
At first I was a little scared, but the doctors told me they were going to cure me. In the hospital, I’m still doing schoolwork and I’ve passed everything.
In the hospital there are lots of volunteers who come to play with me. One of my hobbies is skating, but I had to stop. But when I get better I’m going to keep skating.
Here in the hospital I’ve met lots of people, like doctors, nurses, and volunteers who help me get better.
Because I was spending lots of time in the hospital I got bored and I found out that I love playing parcheesi, playing cards, and doing crafts! When I get out I’ll play with my friends.”
Mara, we’re sending you a big hug from our entire team at Aladina and our thousands of friends. If you want to help our little superheroes, click HERE.
