“My name is Abril, and I am 3 years old. In January of last year, a month before my sister Arlet was born, our life came to a halt. We spent many days locked in a hospital room. I stopped going to school, to storytime, and to activities because I was diagnosed with high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia. I couldn’t start school in September because I’m still in intensive treatment, and my neutrophils are low. But I love attending the hospital school when I’m admitted or when I go to the day hospital to receive my treatment. Thanks to the Aladina Foundation, I’ve discovered that I love painting my face and doing crafts. I’m really looking forward to finishing this phase and moving on to the last part of the protocol, which is called maintenance, where I will slowly be able to return to normal. I’m sending you all the joy in the world!” Dear Abril, we can’t wait to receive some of that magic you spread with your beautiful wand! We love you so much.
