Martina Beltrán

“Hi! I’m Amparo, Martina’s mom.
Martina was a happy, curious, and perfectly healthy little girl—until she turned one. She began to feel weak and extremely tired, to the point where she didn’t even want to play.
After many tests, we finally found out what was wrong: “Multisystem Langerhans cell histiocytosis,” a rare disease. It took some time, but the medical team found the best treatment for her.
I’m a single mom, and while I’ve always had the love and support of my family, I had to face the hospital stays and medical tests alone. I’ll admit—I became overly protective.
But through it all, Martina has been a true warrior. She’s once again that joyful, fun, spontaneous, outgoing, and full-of-life little girl.
At the hospital, I was introduced to Aladina, and that’s when I met Eva. She encouraged me to join the workshops and outings with Martina—even convinced me to sign her up for mini-golf.
Thank you, Aladina, for helping us and showing us that happiness is still possible, no matter what. A thousand heartfelt thanks!”
