The act was attended both by the Minister – Antonio Alonso – and by the president of RTVE Corporation – José Antonio Sánchez. The viewers of 2014’s Inocente Gala, aired last December 27th in Televisión Española’s La 1 (TVE Channel 1), raised this amount.Such a significant aid represents a major boost to the project launched this year by the Fundación Aladina, which now cooperates for the first time with a hospital outside of the Comunidad de Madrid.
Aladina has already hired a new psycho-oncologist – Leire Collazos –, who offers free support to hospitalized children suffering from cancer at the Hospital Cruces, in Vizcaya. Moreover, it is also scheduled to redecorate the children’s area of the Oncology Unit. The patients’ mental and emotional state, as well as a stable family unit, directly affect the children’s recovery process. Leire Collazos is Aladina’s the third psycho-oncologist, joining Valeria Moriconi and Gabriela Medin.
