Our psycho-oncologist Valeria Moriconi knows very well that when one of our “aladinos” falls ill, the rest of their family is affected too. Treatment can take a long time and the young patients are constantly the center of attention. This can make their siblings, whether they’re younger or older, feel out of place.
The psycho-oncologists at Aladina work not only with our patients, but also with their siblings to make sure that they feel comfortable, as they’re an essential form of support for our little fighters.
Valeria discussed her experience helping the siblings of children with cancer at the I Interntional Conference of Clinical Psychology with Children and Adolescents, which was held in Madrid as a forum for professionals, researchers, and students of psychology.
Valeria shared her professional experience with prestigious speakers from the United States, Holland, Portugal, and the United Kingdom. Congratulations!
