Construction Begins on the New Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Areas at Vall d’Hebron Hospital

Thanks to the partnership between Fundacion Aladina, Fundacion Small, and Fundación A. Bosch, we are excited to announce the start of construction for the new oncological and hematological pediatric areas at Vall d’Hebron Hospital. This project will have a profound impact on the well-being of the patients, their families, and the hospital staff.

This ambitious project aims to create a comfortable and welcoming environment where medical treatments, rest, and leisure activities can naturally coexist. It will significantly improve the lives of children and teenagers battling cancer and their families.

The new pediatric oncology and hematology area at Vall d’Hebron Hospital is a crucial undertaking with an estimated cost of 7.4 million euros, and we are still in need of the final 1 million euros to bring this project to fruition. Your support is essential in making this plan a reality.

So, what does the new oncological and hematological pediatric areas at Vall d’Hebron Hospital include?

Through the collaboration between Fundacion Aladina, Fundacion Small, and Fundacion A. Bosch, this ambitious project encompasses a total area of 2,646 m^2, aiming to provide comfort, familiarity, privacy, and security for children, teenagers, and their families.

The new area will consist of:

• 13 individual rooms for children, each with space for a guardian or companion
• 7 individual rooms for adolescents, each with space for a guardian or companion
• 8 beds for bone marrow transplants
• A playroom for the children
• A resting area for parents
• A dedicated area for teenagers
• A classroom
• A gym
• A green outdoor area (terrace)
