We are delighted that the Spanish Film Academy has chosen to award our president, Paco Arango, and the Fundación Aladina for our work. On May 24, 2018, we received the 2018 González Sinde Award for uniting film and philanthropy for a single cause: childhood cancer.
Ángeles González-Sinde, director, screenwriter, and daughter of the first president of the Academy of Film, gave the Award to Paco, who dedicated it to all of the little ones who are fighting against cancer, our volunteers, and to our team here at Aladina. Thank you!
“His exceptional work is well deserving of our praise for his true social responsibility, and for his eagerness to help all of the little fighters, “expressed Mariano Barroso, the interim president at the Academy, during the emotional ceremony, which was celebrated at the headquarters of the Academy. Paco celebrated the event surrounded by some of his greatest friends from the world of film, including Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, Goya Toledo, Enrique Villén, as well as Sara Jiménez and Andoni Hernández, two of the young actors from the film, Maktub.
The event was also attended by supporters of the Academy of Film, as well as some of the Aladinos who Paco has gotten to know well and spend time with over the years. Telma, Fer, Gabriel, and Guille were all there in the packed auditorium, and those who couldn’t attend were there in thought.
Congratulations, Paco, for your well deserved Award!
