Fundacion Aladina recently inaugurated the “Sala de los Sueños” (Room of Dreams) at the Niño Jesús Hospital in Madrid. This new sedation room in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit has been transformed into a friendly environment adorned with beloved Disney characters such as Mickey, Dumbo, and Peter Pan. The room aims to create a less stressful atmosphere for children undergoing tests and procedures.
The new sedation room is a single area with three interconnected rooms, well-lit with natural light, and equipped both technically and in terms of care. It also includes an office and rest area for the medical team. The project received financial contributions from The Walt Disney Company, Kronos Homes, the Mutualmédica Foundation, and the Alonso Viguer Foundation. The total investment for the new sedation room amounted to 261,000 euros.
The new sedation room allows for safer and more efficient work by providing observation and monitoring capabilities until patients are discharged. It also enables the unit to accommodate the increased demand for sedation and ensures proper observation of patients during their hospital stay.
