Portada » News » We’re debuting a new play area with a garden at the Getafe hospital!
The young patients and their families staying at the pediatric unit at the Hospital de Getafe will now be able to enjoy a new place area, which includes an outdoor garden and a covered, climate-controlled pavilion with games.
“Once more, Aladina has successfully brightened up the lives of hospitalized children,” assured our president, Paco Arango.
The new play zone covers an area of over 200 square meters. Inside the covered pavilion, which measures 55 square meters, there are toys, books, and a multimedia area to keep the kids entertained. They won’t want to leave!
Parents can also enjoy the new outdoor space to get some fresh air and rest right alongside their kids. This space includes a garden with artificial grass and rubber flooring to give the little ones space to run, jump, and play without hurting themselves.
This project wouldn’t have been possible without the support and generosity of our friends at the Joyeria Suárez, who financed nearly the entire space by selling ONE charity bracelets.
At Aladina, we know that physical activity and playtime substantially improve the effects of treatment for children fighting cancer. That’s why we never want our little ones to go even a single a day without playtime.
The new play area at the Hospital Universitario de Getafe supports the projects the foundation has completed at other centers, including the terrace and teen room at the Hospital Niño Jesús and the games room at the Hospital Gregorio Marañón.
