Great news! Our president, Paco Arango, has donated a euro for us for each person who went to see his new movie, “Los Rodríguez y el Más Allá”, in theaters. In total, the movie raised €244,269 which will go entirely towards helping kids with cancer.
Ever since he directed his first movie, Paco Arango knew that movies can do a lot of good. Since then, every one of his movies has helped raise money for charity and kids with cancer through Aladina.
Arango is a pioneer of charity filmmaking in Spain, and his movies show that a different way of making movies is possible. The money raised from his first movie, “Maktub” (2011), went towards the Maktub Center, a bone marrow transplant unit at the Hospital Niño Jesús in Madrid. “Lo que de verdad importa” (“The Healer” in English, 2017) made history as the first movie to donate 100% of its box office earnings to charity. It helped finance programs run by different foundations and NGOs in more than 15 countries, making it possible for 1,000 kids and teens with cancer to attend camps all over the world.
Thanks, Mr. President, for your generosity!
