We donated $500,000 to Lebanon’s leading cancer center for children!

Thanks to a donation from the Aladina Foundation, the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon has re-launched its Bone Marrow Transplant Program.

Super news from Aladina! We have made a donation of $500,000 to the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL), the referral centre in helping children with cancer in Lebanon, which after the blasting that occurred in Beirut last August is experiencing an emergency situation.

This wonderful contribution has been possible thanks to the generosity of our president, Paco Arango, who was not comfortable with the idea that Aladina had to resort to the membership fees and therefore has donated this amount entirely to the foundation.

One of the most expensive treatments, and for which the CCCL had been left without resources and without the capacity to respond, is bone marrow transplantation, the last chance of survival for many children with cancer.

Walid is a small two-and-a-half-year-old warrior who has been fighting leukemia since the first months of his life. At the time when the Aladina donation was about to arrive he had no longer  the possibility of a treatment. Now, he will be the first patient to receive a transplant and consequently the hope to survive cancer.

With this important contribution, and coinciding with our XV anniversary, we strengthen our international aid program to entities that help sick or needy children with a huge commitment.
