Right now, times are really hard in hospitals. The coronavirus pandemic means our little superheroes have to be isolated, and there are often new restrictions. In other words, they need us now more than ever.
We’ve worked hard to ensure that our kids and teens can still enjoy play therapy and emotional support, from spending time with their favorite Blue Dogs and even horses, to enjoying music therapy, exercise sessions, and DIY workshops to make their own yogurt and makeup.
All of these activities help them deal with their treatment. Even better, the whole family can participate! Whether it’s playing with animals, enjoying physical activity, or receiving personalized psychological support, the activities help our little superheroes to keep their mood up, which in turn affects their physical health.
Digital tools have made our work easier, even in these strange times. Both the therapists and our Aladinos have been able to connect via an online platform, whether it’s from the hospital or their homes. It’s been a huge success, and they’ve enjoyed playing with dogs, playing fun instruments, and learning new crafts.
If you know where to look, good things are still happening all around us!
