Meet Miguel! Our driver for the Palliative Care Unit
Palliative care is crucial to children who no longer respond to any medical treatment and find themselves in the terminal stages of their illness. At Fundación Aladina, we believe that it is essential to guarantee the best possible quality of life for these children and to make sure that their last days are spent comfortably at home surrounded by loved ones.
Since 2014, we have hired a reliable driver and have also provided a large van-ambulance to the Palliative Care Unit at the Hospital Niño Jesus (UCPP) to facilitate the transportation of doctors and nurses to the patients’ homes.
Every year, we donate a significant amount to the Asociación Porque Viven, an association founded by a group of professionals from the UCPP. 24 hours a day–7 days a week, the association extends a helping hand to the children and teenagers in Madrid, who require palliative care.

The organization of the daily routes is a key factor in providing the children with the best possible care. Two years ago, Aladina hired a driver for us, his name is Miguel. Thanks to him, every day’s work is easier and he frees us from the responsibility of having to drive and park. Thanks to him, the quality of our job in every visit is better. Furthermore, thanks to his discretion, kindness and professionalism, he contributes to improve our working environment. Thank you Miguel! Thank you Aladina!”See moreDr. Ricardo Martino, Head of Palliative Care Unit
