One of our heroes, Sara, and her mom, Esther, tell us how Aladina has improved their lives in the hospital
Our latest project that we recently completed, here at Aladina, is an update of the Onco-hematology wing at the new Women and Infants’ Hospital at the Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca in Murcia.
The new project includes:
- A new teen room with all kinds of entertainment equipment
- A completely new design for the wing, which has given the hospital a bit of color
To carry out the project, we held a contest for ideas all around Spain in collaboration with the College of Architects of Murcia. The winning project was created by María Pérez, David Hernández, Edith Aroca, and José María López. The judging panel agreed that their idea, “Puntos”, helped develop abstract intelligence with contemporary design and would be easy to adapt to different ages.
The new oncohematology area has room for 19 children and teens up to 18 years old to be hospitalized, as well as capacity for 22 more in outpatient care.
