{"id":28404,"date":"2022-03-21T15:09:26","date_gmt":"2022-03-21T14:09:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aladina-org.the-lion.com\/quienes-somos\/noticias-aladina\/a-plane-carrying-16-ukrainian-children-with-cancer-arrives-in-barcelona\/"},"modified":"2026-02-05T18:16:25","modified_gmt":"2026-02-05T17:16:25","slug":"a-plane-carrying-16-ukrainian-children-with-cancer-arrives-in-barcelona","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aladina.org\/en\/who-we-are\/aladina-news\/a-plane-carrying-16-ukrainian-children-with-cancer-arrives-in-barcelona\/","title":{"rendered":"A plane carrying 16 Ukrainian children with cancer arrives in Barcelona"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>This Friday, the second of the flights landed in Barcelona, following the first one that landed in Madrid the previous week, carrying 16 Ukrainian children suffering from cancer with their families.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sehop.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SEHOP<\/a>, the Aladina Foundation, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fevillavecchia.es\/es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Villavecchia Foundation<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fcarreras.org\/es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jos\u00e9 Carreras Foundation<\/a>, together with the child cancer organisations working in Catalonia, organised the arrival last Friday of the second group of Ukrainian children suffering from cancer.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The operation has been made possible thanks to the essential collaboration of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sjdhospitalbarcelona.org\/es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sant Joan de D\u00e9u<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vallhebron.com\/es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vall d&#8217;Hebron<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.santpau.cat\/es\/web\/public\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sant Pau<\/a> hospitals; and the joint work of different organisations against childhood cancer in Catalonia (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.contraelcancer.es\/es\/sobre-nosotros\/donde-estamos\/sede-barcelona\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Asociaci\u00f3n contra el C\u00e1ncer &#8211; Catalunya<\/em><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/afanoc.org\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AFANOC<\/a>, Fundaci\u00f3n Enriqueta Villavecchia and Fundaci\u00f3n Josep Carreras. Interpreters, volunteers and a large group of people have collaborated in the reception and accompaniment of these families.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In coordination with the Servei Catal\u00e0 de la Salut, the children have been referred to the three Catalan hospitals, where treatment will be resumed and comprehensive assistance will be provided in terms of care, social and emotional support.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This solidarity initiative is the second in our country after the <a href=\"https:\/\/aladina.org\/noticia\/ucrania-fondo-de-emergencias-dona\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">arrival in Madrid of 25 children with cancer and their families<\/a> a fortnight ago, which was also led by Aladina.<\/p>\r\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery
