The Aladina Foundation attends the inauguration of the first breastfeeding and perinatal care room of the General Hospital of Tomelloso<\/a>,<\/strong> a room in whose remodelling and decoration the foundation has invested 4,750.46\u20ac. <\/p> \n \n

This room will be used by hospitalised mothers to breastfeed their children, and if required, they will be assisted by professionals from the Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Paediatrics Hospitalisation Unit<\/strong>, all in a quiet, intimate and welcoming environment. It will also be of great use to women attending both outpatient and emergency services, as they will find a more comfortable place adapted to their needs. <\/p> \n \n

The new room, which has been named Dulcinea<\/strong>, has all the necessary materials to promote and facilitate breastfeeding care: comfortable armchairs, warm cushions, a practical changing table, television, breast pump, bottle warmer and an adjoining bathroom. The room is acoustically isolated and has been decorated with floral motifs and evocative images to give a sense of spaciousness. <\/p> \n \n

\u2018With this room, in addition to providing excellent perinatal care, the aim is to encourage breastfeeding, motivate and advise on the care related to this process, as well as to use this space to teach parents about perinatal care and any doubts that may arise at the time of hospital discharge<\/em>\u2019, explained Bego\u00f1a Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>, Director General of Care and Quality at SESCAM.<\/p> \n \n

This room will also be multi-purpose<\/strong> as it will also be used to show explanatory videos and to hold educational and advisory workshops on breastfeeding and perinatal care. <\/p> \n \n

This is the second intervention that the Aladina Foundation has carried out in a public hospital in Castilla La Mancha.<\/a><\/p> \n\r\n
