That&#8217;s why our work extends beyond Spain&#8217;s borders, supporting projects that improve pediatric healthcare in underserved communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This week, we had the honor of inaugurating the <strong>Aladina Pavilion at Hospital San Mart\u00edn de Porres in Yaound\u00e9, Cameroon. <\/strong>Fully funded by us through a \u20ac300,000 investment, this project is much more than a new building. It&#8217;s designed to transform healthcare for children and mothers in the region. The project has also been selected for the 2026 Architecture Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Neighborhood, a Hospital, and a Real Need<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hospital San Mart\u00edn de Porres was founded in 2006 in Yaound\u00e9&#8217;s Sixth District<\/strong> to meet the healthcare needs of the local population. Until now, outpatient services for children and mothers, as well as vaccination campaigns, were provided in a temporary facility. The Aladina Pavilion was created to change that reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new building covers <strong>388m\u00b2 across two floors and was specifically designed to address the hospital&#8217;s <\/strong>needs and local context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ground floor includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Three prenatal consultation rooms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A treatment and procedures room<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A vaccination room<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two waiting areas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restrooms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The upper floor is organized around a central corridor and includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Four pediatric inpatient rooms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two rooms dedicated to rare diseases<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A nursing station<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, each inpatient room has its own private restroom, improving comfort and quality of care for patients and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure Emotional and Unforgettable Journey<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our heartfelt thanks to the entire team at <strong>Hospital San Mart\u00edn de Porres,<\/strong> the local authorities who joined us for the inauguration, and everyone who helped make this project possible \u2014 especially<strong> Elisa Valero<\/strong>, the architect behind this remarkable initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This has been an unforgettable journey, and it&#8217;s incredibly rewarding to see how this new facility will mark a turning point in the care and treatment of children in Cameroon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Supporting Children Beyond Spain<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Aladina Pavilion in Cameroon is another step forward in our international commitment to children facing serious illness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Aladina, we currently collaborate <strong>with organizations and projects in 14 countries,<\/strong> many of them affected by humanitarian crises or limited healthcare resources.
