Transforming Pediatric Emergency and ICU Spaces in the Hospital de Toledo

Thanks to the support of thousands of members, companies, and donors, the first phase of the HUTO Humanization is now a reality. But there's still a lot of work to do—we still need your help to improve the pediatric ICU and emergency areas.

What have we done?

The newly constructed Hospital de Toledo was modern but sterile—lacking color, warmth, or child-friendly design. Aladina invested €600,000 to transform 2,400 m² of the pediatric area, renovating patient rooms, the outpatient center, exam rooms, waiting areas, hallways, common spaces, outdoor patio, and school. Designed by Rai Pinto's architecture studio and drawing inspiration from Toledo's rich history as the City of Three Cultures, we created a vibrant, calming environment that truly serves children and families. Soft arches for children to play with; shapes and designs that not only humanize the spaces but make the stay of our Aladina warriors from La Mancha much more comfortable.

What's left to do?

We need you in this second phase. Now, with your help, we can keep improving and make every corner of the hospital a place where children and their families feel more supported and protected.

In Phase II, our goal is clear: to transform the pediatric emergency and pediatric ICU areas into humanized, warm spaces adapted to the needs of the little ones and their families. We want to create environments that offer comfort, calm, and safety.
