As soon as Paco Arango, our founder, crossed the threshold of a children’s cancer ward for the first time in 2001, as a volunteer, he knew that he had found his life’s mission and a way to repay his good fortune. Four years later, in 2005, Fundación Aladina was born.
Since then, Aladina has been working non stop to make sure that no seriously ill child or their family ever loses their smile or their determination to fight. We offer them all our love and support from the moment they receive their diagnosis and walk alongside them through the hard road that is childhood cancer.
Today, Aladina helps more than 1,500 children with serious illnesses all around Spain every year, through its work in more than 18 partner hospitals.
Over the years, we have created one big family, working to serve the needs of children with cancer and their families. Here at Aladina, we are all fully committed to our work, and we go above and beyond for “our kids”.
Special mention should be made of our hospitals team, who bring their extraordinary sensitivity and skills and manage to bring joy and love to the darkness that childhood cancer often is.
Our motto? We give our all for the children!
It’s hard to imagine that it has been over fifteen years since it all started…
Each month and each day have been forever marked by smiles, battles, victories and some sad goodbyes. Every little warrior that has crossed my path is engraved in my heart. Their parrents, who set an extraordinary example of courage and the nurses and doctors, with whom we have shared the battle field facing a fierce adversary are forever remembered.
Aladina has become stronger, more capable, and without a doubt, childhood cancer is well aware that we are a force to be reckon whilst growing larger every year. The team that makes up the Aladina family is extraordinary, I can assure you.
The office fights to get the necessary funds that make possible all that we do and communicate our values to spread the word. Our hospital personnel are a team of angels, who are at bedside with these little warriors at all times. They become a member of their family and support group and are key in keeping up the high spirits. Supported by many wonderful volunteers who with kindness and love make the hospital ward a magical place.
For all of this, Aladina is very special. We work diligently and have only one goal: that this disease never steals the smile of a single child with cancer. We have done a lot these fifteen years, but the best is yet to come.
With much love and appreciation for all of you who have helped us get here…

Our greatest reward are the smiles we see on the children’s faces, but all the work we do to raise these smiles has been recognised by many entities and organisations.
