Hands-On Support

The arrival of cancer in a family is like a tsunami. That’s why, in addition to emotional and psychological support, we offer hands-on assistance to cover the needs that arise throughout the process.

Extraordinary Assistance Fund

Real support where it's needed most

Childhood cancer impacts families in many ways. With this fund, we cover extraordinary expenses: wigs, wheelchairs, hearing aids, physical therapy, transportation, financial assistance, or funeral expenses.

Our team and social workers review each case individually to offer the best help and ensure it reaches those who need it most.

Aladina with Ukraine

A path of solidarity and hope

In 2022, following the outbreak of war and in coordination with SEHOP (Spanish Society of Pediatric Hemato-Oncology), Safer Ukraine, and other international organizations, we evacuated families with children sick with cancer from the country and ensured they received the medical and psychosocial support they so desperately needed in Spain.

We coordinated medical care with leading public hospitals, managed and financed their accommodation near the health centers where they receive treatment, organized all necessary administrative work, and the families were incorporated into Aladina’s comprehensive support system. Today, we continue to provide them with the support they need, ensuring these children can continue their treatments in Spain for as long as necessary.

In total, we led the arrival of 55 Ukrainian children with cancer and their families to Spain and took care of 35 of them and their families (96 people) for three years in Madrid. A program with a cost of over €1.5 million.
