Carlos Tatay, motorcycling rider who suffered a serious accident, joins us at the inauguration at the Hospital de Parapléjicos de Toledo.
As part of our commitment to help children and adolescents who, due to the after-effects of cancer, suffer spinal injuries, we donated Atalante X to the Hospital de Parapléjicos de Toledo, an exoskeleton that helps them to recover their walking.
Atalante X is a pioneering system valued at 133,000 euros and represents Aladina’s second collaboration with this hospital after Lokomat.
Our president Paco Arango and our Director of Hospitals, Lorena Díez, together with the Regional Minister of Health of the Castilla La Mancha Regional Government, Jesús Fernández Sanz, and the motorcycling driver Carlos Tatay inaugurated Atalante accompanied by the hospital’s medical and rehabilitation team.
The Atalante X exoskeleton uses the latest technology based on dynamic movement algorithms to improve gait re-education in young people and adolescents who are admitted to the centre with spinal cord injuries. Thus, the Hospital de Parapléjicos de Toledo now has two exoskeletons donated by Aladina: LOKOMAT, intended for the rehabilitation of children with spinal cord injuries and inaugurated in June 2022, and Atalante X.
With this new donation, we will be able to improve the quality of life of hundreds of adolescents. Thank you to all of you who make it possible for us to continue our work and improvements in hospitals to help those who need it most.
