Frequently Asked Questions about Charitable Bequests

What is a charitable bequest?

  • It is a written statement of a person’s wishes in which they include one or more foundations in their will, leaving a portion of their estate in the case of inheritance, or a specific asset as a bequest.
  • Foundations are not subject to the payment of Gift and Inheritance Tax, so that the inheritance or legacy received by the Aladina Foundation will be used entirely to improve the lives of children with cancer.

How can I make a charitable bequest in favor of the Aladina Foundation?

  • If you have no heirs, you can name the Aladina Foundation as the universal heir, making it the beneficiary of all your assets, rights, and/or shares.
  • If you want to leave your assets to more than one person or institution, you can designate the Aladina Foundation as a co-heir, specifying the percentage assigned to each party in your will.
  • Another option is to name the Aladina Foundation as a legatee, leaving a specific asset, such as a property, a car, a piece of art, or a specific monetary amount.

If you already have a will, do you need to redo it to include the Aladina Foundation?

  • No, you only need to contact your notary to register the modification. The most recent will is the one that will have legal value.

What information should I include in my charitable bequest in favor of the Aladina Foundation?

  • Legal Name: FUNDACIÓN ALADINA
  • Tax ID: G84489054
  • Postal Address: C/Tomás Bretón 50-52, 3rd floor, Office 5.

And remember! Once you have completed the process, it is important that you notify us and send us a copy of the will.
