Palliative care

Palliative care is essential when children and their families face the terminal stage of the illness. At the Aladina Foundation, we understand that the most important thing is to ensure they can go through this stage at home, free from pain and with the best possible quality of life.

Our commitment to children and adolescents who require palliative care is absolute. Proof of this is the creation and financing of the first pediatric palliative care hospitalization unit in Spain at the Niño Jesús Hospital , in collaboration with the center. A pioneering space inaugurated in October 2021 and which will serve 300 minors every year. It has five single rooms with a companion bed and service, a day hospital with two beds for family respite admissions, a terrace and a garden.

A service to facilitate the transportation of the medical team

Since 2014, we have funded a driver service to facilitate the transportation of the medical team from this unit to patients’ homes, as well as to transport medical supplies and provide support as needed.
