International Summer Camps

International Summer Camps

Since 2006, at the Aladina Foundation we have maintained a close collaboration with
Serious Fun Children’s Network, the camp network for children with
serious illnesses founded by Paul Newman.

We make it possible for more than 200 sick Spanish children to enjoy a magical week of vacation every summer at the international summer camps in Barretstown (Ireland) and Dynamo Camp (Italy).

There, they forget about their illness, return to being themselves, and regain their self-esteem, all while enjoying the outdoors and participating in various activities with other children who understand them with just a glance.

As its motto says: here we practice fun seriously!

Dynamo Camp Summer Camp

In the Italian Tuscany, very close to Florence, lies this wonderful camp; the only one in Italy for children with illnesses: Dynamo Camp.

Since 2017, more than 50 Spanish children with cancer have enjoyed incredible vacation days completely free of charge for their families, thanks to the financial support of the Aladina Foundation.

Activities at Dynamo Camp

Through its therapeutic recreation programs, sports, and outdoor activities, including those with animals, they help children and teenagers regain their smiles and return full of energy to continue facing their illness.

Barretstown Summer Camp

Located in the Irish hills in an unparalleled natural setting, Barretstown is one of the 30 camps in the international Serious Fun Children's Network.

For more than 10 years, we have maintained a close relationship with this camp and made it possible for over 100 Spanish children and teenagers with cancer to enjoy an unforgettable summer vacation there each year.

Activities at the solidarity camp in Barretstown

Horseback riding, canoeing, climbing, archery, crafts, dancing, and performing plays are just some of the fun activities that children can engage in to forget about their illness, be happy, and feel like kids again.

Within the camp facilities, Aladina has funded "The Aladina Centre" (2013), a large play area in one of the buildings on the premises, as well as modern film studios (2021) for the enjoyment of children and teenagers.
