Physical Exercise
Thanks to our two doctors in Physical Activity and Health, we teach this program in three Madrid hospitals: the Niño Jesús Hospital, the Gregorio Marañón, the 12 de Octubre Hospital and in one in Murcia: Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital, as well as online. In addition, since 2017 we have financed the “Aladina Sports Scholarships” in the specialized Tandem gym for all those children and adolescents who continue in cancer treatment as well as for their caregiver, who can enjoy a yoga, Pilates or relaxation session while the patient performs the session. Since 2021, the two Doctors in Physical Activity and Health of the Aladina Foundation have been participating in the research project “Physical exercise during cancer treatment in adolescents”, led by the 12 de Octubre and Niño Jesús hospitals in Madrid. The aim is to study the effects of physical exercise on the well-being and quality of life of adolescents with cancer. To do this, patients will carry out an exercise program during the time that the treatment against the disease lasts and, once they finish it, its benefits on physical and functional capacity, fatigue, body composition and quality of life are evaluated. In addition, Aladina finances the figure of another professional in this study fully dedicated to the area of research.
