Childhood cancer affects many levels: economic, logistical, familial, social… and has various consequences for the families of the children who suffer from it.
Through this fund, we take care of covering extraordinary expenses and needs of families with a child suffering from cancer. Wigs, wheelchairs, hearing aids, physical therapy sessions, transportation, financial assistance, and funeral expenses are some of the types of support we provide.
We always follow the same protocol, and our hospital team, in coordination with each hospital’s social workers, evaluates each case individually to find the best way to assist each family. This way, we ensure that our contribution is directed to those who need it most. As a result of COVID-19 and after noticing a significant increase in families needing our support, we expanded this fund several months ago to help alleviate, within our means, the consequences of the pandemic.
