
56 teams from all over Galicia, and from various cities in Spain, Portugal and France, competed in the Congalsa International Tournament of Base Football Concello de Ribeira in favour of the Aladina Foundation held on the 20th and 21st of May.
The tournament featured Alevín and Benjamín teams, aged 10 to 12 years old. Among the participating clubs were Atlético de Madrid, champion in the Alevín category, Villarreal, Real Zaragoza, FC Porto, Entente Sportive, Deportivo de A Coruña, Celta de Vigo, CD Parquesol de Valladolid and CD Lugo, among others.
In the Benjamín category, Real Betis, Deportivo de A Coruña, Celta de Vigo, FC Porto, Benfica, Braga, Entente Sportive and CD Parquesol de Valladolid took part. FC Porto were the champions in this category.
One of the most emotional moments of the event was the kick-off in the final by Nico, an oncology patient, who also had the opportunity to meet the participating teams.
Thanks to the proceeds from the tournament, in favour of the Aladina Foundation, the various projects and programmes for children and adolescents with cancer, such as the Physical Exercise Programme, will be supported.
