Dancing against cancer

Danzando contra el cáncer – Fundación Aladina

The dance school Seren Dance, led by Sara Aparicio, organised for the second consecutive year the festival ‘Dancing against childhood cancer’, whose profits were entirely donated to Aladina.

The event, which took place in the Assembly Hall of the Casa de la Cultura of the Torrejón de Ardoz Town Hall, was attended by the students of the Seren Dance school, from the children’s groups to the older ones. Guest groups also took to the stage, such as students from the ‘Lola Moreno’ Professional Dance School, the dance group ‘Los 60 También Bailan’ from the Department for the Elderly, a dance group from the La Gaviota school, the chirigota ‘Los Jevis de la Gran Vía’ and the singer Ángel Valero.

The proceeds amounted to €6,000 between ticket sales, donations from sponsors and Fila 0.

‘From the hand of a great friend and with the help of the cultural council of Torrejón de Ardoz, an idea came up: I would do what I liked the most, dance, with the best purpose I could think of, to help the Aladina Foundation, and so was born the ‘Gala Charity Dancing Against Childhood Cancer, Now all members of the school Seren Dance we only have one goal, to continue adding Gala Charity Dancing against cancer on our backs and continue year after year doing our bit so that no child with cancer lose their smile. ‘Sara Aparicio, director of Seren Dance and ambassador of Aladina, says.
