Families of Ukrainian children with cancer in Madrid now have a home of their own

Las familias de los niños ucranianos con cáncer de Madrid ya tienen hogar propio

Last March, 55 Ukrainian children and their families arrived in Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia. The Aladina Foundation has been responsible for the logistical management and accompaniment of the families who remained in Madrid to follow their treatments.

After their stay in Santander’s Ciudad Financiera over the last few months, the Aladina Foundation has mobilised our resources to provide them with the homes they need in the vicinity of the hospitals in Madrid where they receive treatment. We are happy that Dymitro, Maxim, Pollina, Anna, Nikita, Julia …. finally enjoy your home away from home.

We tell you how the Ukrainian children with cancer arrived in Spain ….

Ukraine is experiencing a terrible situation that has us all cringing. Unfortunately, there are many children in the country with cancer who, given the circumstances, are not being able to receive the treatment and care they deserve.
At Aladina we have led, at the request of the Spanish Society of Haematology and Paediatric Oncology (SEHOP), the evacuation of the first children with cancer and their families. In coordination with four major hospitals in the Community as well as with other institutions and entities, Juegaterapia, El Sueño de Vicky, Asociación Española contra el Cáncer, Asociación Pablo Ugarte, Unoentrecienmil, Pequeño Deseo, Fundación Josep Carreras, ASION, the Spanish Federation of Parents of Children with Cancer and Cris contra el Cáncer, our aim is to provide them with all the necessary help and guarantee them access to all the services and resources available.

We opened a Rescue Fund to respond to all the needs that are arising and with your help we have succeeded! We managed to raise €251,263 Thank you very much to all of you who made it possible!

Now, more than ever, we need to stand by the children and adolescents with cancer who need us most.
