We continue to support research to achieve the best quality of life and survival for children with cancer!
For this reason we have financed with €180,000 the implementation of a pioneering programme in Spain, EVAT, the Early Warning Assessment Scale (Escala de Valoración de Alerta Temprana), at La Paz Hospital in Madrid.
EVAT arrives directly from the St. Jude’s Research Children’s Hospital in the United States, the world’s leading hospital for the treatment of childhood cancer.
This is an assessment scale whose aim is to detect clinical deterioration early on in order to act as soon as possible and prevent the child’s condition from worsening. To this end, a systematised assessment of vital signs and clinical condition is established through a scoring system.
This programme has been shown to improve the prognosis and survival of Aladinos as well as to decrease the frequency and duration of ICU admissions.
