Inauguration of ‘La Sala de los Sueños’, the new sedation room in the paediatric ICU at Niño Jesús in Madrid

Aladina Inaugura la ‘Sala de los Sueños’ en el Hospital Niño Jesús

Aladina inaugurates the new Sedation Room of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit of the Niño Jesús Hospital in Madrid, ‘La Sala de los Sueños’. In December 2016, we opened the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, a pioneer in the humanisation of care for children, which now has a new sedation and observation room for patients.

Thanks to our intervention, the former sedation room of the hospital has been transformed into a unique area with three independent rooms connected to each other, illuminated by natural light and perfectly equipped both technically and in terms of care.

It also has an office and rest area for the medical teams and for receiving patients’ families.

It is essential to create a space where the children being cared for feel in a friendly environment, as it reduces the patient’s anxiety and helps to manage the family’s stress.

The ‘Room of Dreams’ involved a total investment of 261,000 euros, and was made possible thanks to the financial contribution of The Walt Disney Company, Kronos Homes, Fundación Mutual Médica and Fundación Alonso Viguer, as well as all the partners and individual donors who support Aladina throughout the year.
