Cancer patients and their families follow strict rules of hygiene and limitation of their daily activities. Going out to do the shopping, going to meetings, going to school, meeting friends… what was once an occasion for enjoyment becomes an occasion for danger and anxiety. Sound familiar?
What to do when faced with forced isolation?
- Recognising emotions. There is no good or bad emotion, there are emotions that contribute and emotions that subtract. Which one helps me to move and which one paralyses me?
- Review previous experiences. Reflect on what has served us well and what we do not want to repeat.
- Reflect on our values. Our values and new projects will sustain us in this time of crisis.
Time for reflection
Now all you have to do is let your imagination run wild. Creativity to be able to choose what things I want to be present in my new life in the most comfortable way for me.
What was once an obstacle is now a possibility for change and growth.
The life I have lost was the life that seemed to me a wall of certainties; now I have been able to reflect on the blocks that made it up.
What part do I want to take, what part do I want to let go of?
