The director of our foundation, Ishtar Espejo, has been one of the eight chosen to take part this year in the global cancer control programme, an initiative that the International Union of Cancer (UICC) has been developing since 2014 in collaboration with Roche.
Ishtar becomes the first Spanish woman to be part of this young leaders programme, which has 35 cancer professionals from 19 countries. In the case of the director of Aladina, UICC officials have highlighted, among other things, her leadership potential, as well as her proven ability to mobilise communities and have a high impact on cancer control in her own environment.
