Leire Collazos belongs to Fundación Aladina’s team of psycho-oncologists and has been present at the Second Iberian Congress of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology held in Santiago de Compostela last weekend as a speaker.
The specialist gave a talk entitled ‘Balint Group: Taking care of ourselves to take better care’, talking about the emotional care of healthcare professionals. This is a group emotional care initiative for child oncology healthcare professionals that has been carried out with the help of the psychiatrist José María Erroteta.
This initiative provides a space for children’s oncology professionals to reflect, understand and care for their own emotions as they go about their work.
In this way Aladina is present at the XV SEHOP Congress (Spanish Society of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology) giving visibility to the importance of Psychological Support Programmes for all those who live with illnesses such as cancer.
Fundación Aladina currently has a team of nine psycho-oncologists who offer free, personalised psychological care for all families of children with cancer.
