On the 20th of April we will celebrate, together with the Never Surrender Foundation, our first event in the city of Murcia: SportsFun, whose proceeds will go towards the construction of a new Paediatric Oncology Gymnasium in the Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca. On Thursday 11th April, the councillor for Social Welfare, Family and Health, Pilar Torres, together with Ishtar Espejo, director of the Aladina Foundation, and Alberto González-Costea, president of Never Surrender, presented our family day for the fight against childhood cancer.
This day, which combines sport and fun, will be held in the Chinese Garden of Murcia from 10 am to 8 pm with multiple activities for the whole family. You can buy tickets in advance on the website eventosaladina.org, as well as see all the activities planned for the day.
SportsFun will feature sports classes such as fitness, GAP or zumba, as well as a children’s area, a charity raffle and a gastro area, among others. In addition, it will be presented by our dear Fran Saez!
The Paediatric Oncology gymnasium at the Hospital Virgen de La Arrixaca will be used for children and adolescents with cancer to carry out the rehabilitation prescribed by their doctors, a fundamental basis for their treatment and recovery, and in which the Aladina Foundation will develop its Physical Exercise programme, already implemented at the hospital. This gym will be located on the first floor of the hospital and will have more than 400m2, a perfect environment for personalised physical exercise sessions and sport in visual contact with nature in a light-filled space.
SportsFun would not be possible without the companies and institutions that have joined forces to make this unique event a reality that has a positive impact on Murcian society, focusing on sport as a way to care for and improve the quality of life of children with cancer. Without the sponsorship of Porcisan, UCAM, Pujante, Entrápolis and Mafesa, the collaboration of companies such as Coca-Cola, the Basketball Federation and the Football Federation of the Region of Murcia, the communication agency Weekend, Viñas Familia Gil, Ángel Churrero, the Association Los Sardineros and the express support of the City Council of Murcia, this great charity event would not have been possible.
