Today we are celebrating! The Aladina Foundation celebrates 18 years helping children with cancer and their families.
In 2001 our president Paco Arango walked through the door of a children’s cancer hospital for the first time as a volunteer. From then on he knew that this was the place where he would stay, and where he could repay the good fortune he had had in life. Only four years later, in 2005, he set up the Aladina Foundation.
Thanks to their dream that no child with cancer should lose their smile, over the years we have directly helped more than 20,000 children both nationally and internationally. We are currently present in 20 Spanish public hospitals and we collaborate with international organisations in 14 countries in humanitarian emergencies.
We work so that no sick child or their family ever loses their smile or their will to fight. We care for them with all our affection from the moment they arrive at the hospital and we accompany them every day so that they know they are not alone and feel our unconditional support.
In addition, we carry out infrastructure refurbishment projects in Spanish public hospitals that can benefit the largest possible number of children in hospital. In our aim to humanise the spaces and offer care programmes, our investment in all these years has been more than 17.3 million euros.
But none of this would have been possible without the partners, companies and collaborators who bet on our dream and help us every year to make it possible. Currently more than 25,000 friends are part of our family and support us on a monthly basis.
THANK YOU for growing by our side all these years and helping us to make sure that no child with cancer loses their smile. Here’s to another 18 years!
