Inauguramos la Unidad de la Vida en el Niño Jesús de Madrid

We couldn’t be happier with the inauguration of the Unit of Life, the new Pediatric Palliative Care Hospitalization Area at Niño Jesús Hospital in Madrid!

The Unit of Life, as we have named it at Aladina, has officially opened its doors, accompanied by the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso. The area, a pioneer in public healthcare in Spain, features a room with five individual bedrooms, a day hospital, a parents’ room, offices for medical staff, and a beautiful garden, providing comprehensive care for children and adolescents in need of these services.

Aladina has contributed to the construction of this area with a funding of €600,000 out of a total of €750,000. It will feature five individual rooms with space for a companion, a day hospital, a parents’ room, offices for medical staff, and is expected to serve 150 minors each year. Additionally, the unit will include two rooms for family respite.

The entire unit is a serene, bright space that has direct access to the terrace and the new garden. An oasis of tranquility where hospitalized children and adolescents, along with their families, enrich their lives every day.

Would you like to explore the new area with our president, Paco Arango?

The garden of the Unit of Life.

The new Pediatric Palliative Care Unit at the Niño Jesús Hospital in Madrid features a beautiful garden where children and adolescents can access it directly from their rooms. Parents can rest while watching their children enjoy the outdoors, connect with nature, and bask in the sunlight.

This beautiful garden has already become a small world within the hospital, accessible according to each patient’s circumstances. With a clear line of sight for all play areas and adapted circulation; admitted patients can access the garden with their beds or wheelchairs from their rooms, and those who come to the hospital for treatment can enter directly from the street.

A natural outdoor space where hospitalized children do what children do—play and rest—and families feel supported. The garden of the Pediatric Palliative Care Unit at Niño Jesús Hospital in Madrid is an oasis of peace, tranquility, and rest for families and hospitalized children and adolescents.
