We visit the works at Vall d’Hebron together with the Diverse Foundation

Visitamos las obras de Vall d'Hebrón junto a la Fundación Diverse

The Diverse Foundation, the main partner of the Improved Reality project promoted by Aladina together with the Small Foundation and the A.Bosch Foundation, accompanied us on a visit to the construction site of the new Paediatric Oncology area at Vall d’Hebron. Jordi Rubiralta and Emily Kunze, president and founder of Fundació Diverse respectively, visited the works together with the manager of the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, Dr. Albert Salazar, the Head of the Paediatric Oncology and Haematology Service, Lucas Moreno, the nursing supervisor of the Paediatric Oncology and Haematology Service, Esther Díaz, and the head of the Patronage Unit of Vall d’Hebron, Sira Franquero. They were also accompanied by representatives of the three foundations currently promoting this project, including our director Ishtar Espejo.

Improved Reality is the integral reform project of the Paediatric Oncology and Haematology Area of Vall d’Hebron. The works, with a total budget of 7.4 million euros of which 6.4 million euros have already been raised, started in June 2023 and are scheduled for completion in 2025. The Diverse Foundation is a fundamental partner in this project, as its financial contribution has been key to getting the works underway.

This new area, with an extension of 2,646m2, will be larger and brighter, will separate the patient and family areas from the work areas and will improve the leisure, play and rest areas. There will also be a specific area for teenagers and young adults. More well-being, better coexistence, more security and more intimacy are the four axes that define the new space.
