Who we are

The moment Paco Arango, our founder, walked through the door of a children’s cancer hospital for the first time in 2001 as a volunteer, he knew that this was the place where he would stay and where he could restore the luck he had had in life.
Four years later, in 2005, he launched the Aladina Foundation.

Since then, we have worked so that no sick child or family ever loses their smile or the desire to fight.
We take care of them with all our love from the moment they arrive at the hospital and we accompany them every day so that they know that they are not alone and feel our unconditional support.

Today, we are a reality from which around 1,500 sick children from all over Spain benefit every year in the 22 hospitals where we collaborate.

In our goal to go further internationally, in 2023 we officially joined UICC, the Union for International Cancer Control that is exclusively dedicated to global cancer control.

Everyone at Aladina is absolutely committed to our work and gives the best of ourselves.

Special mention should be made of our team of hospitals, which with incredible sensitivity and professionalism, manage to shed light on situations in which childhood cancer fills everything with darkness.

Letter from the founder

Cada mes y cada día han estado marcados por sonrisas, batallas, victorias y tristes despedidas. Tengo grabado en mi corazón y en mi alma a cada pequeño guerrero que se ha cruzado en mi camino; también a sus padres, que han dado ejemplo de coraje difícil de superar, y a familiares, enfermer@s y médic@s con los que hemos compartido el complicado camino que supone enfrentarse a un adversario feroz.

Aladina se ha vuelto algo grande, más capaz y, sin lugar a duda, el cáncer infantil ya nos tiene mucho miedo. El equipo que forma esta pequeña familia es extraordinario, os lo aseguro.

En la oficina luchan para conseguir los fondos necesarios que impulsan nuestras mejoras hospitalarias; transmiten nuestros valores y sensibilizan contando la verdad de lo que vivimos. En los hospitales, tengo a un equipo de ángeles que acompañan a estos pequeños guerreros en cada momento sin parar, por distintos centros de España, apoyados por maravillosos voluntarios que arropan con su bondad.

Por todo esto, Aladina es muy especial. Trabajamos sin descanso y solo tenemos un objetivo: que esta enfermedad no le robe la sonrisa a ningún niño con cáncer. Hemos hecho mucho, pero lo mejor está por llegar.
