Goal
This project is part of our hospital improvement program, which the foundation has been running since 2008. Our goal is to transform the spaces where children spend long periods of time in the hospital into warmer, more comfortable environments tailored to their needs.
The new Pediatric Day Hospital spans 800 square meters and includes:
Two Day Hospital Areas:
One for transplant patients and another for pediatric hemato-oncology patients. Both areas are equipped with isolation rooms for the most vulnerable children.
Two Waiting Rooms:
One designated for transplant patients, and another that is divided into two separate sections: one for hemato-oncology patients and another for those with contagious illnesses.
Although the Community of Madrid has plans to fully renovate Hospital La Paz over the next 10 to 15 years, it was crucial to provide the hospital with a new Pediatric Oncology Day Hospital as soon as possible. More than 500 children with cancer and their families will benefit from this new facility, which will host over 4,000 consultations each year.
We know just how important a well-designed hospital environment is to a child’s recovery. At Aladina, ensuring the well-being of young patients and their families is always our top priority.
