I’ve spent a lot of time in isolation, unable to play with other kids my age—many of whom were often surprised by how I looked.
Now I’m 15 and have undergone three surgeries. I’ve witnessed everything my mom has done for me, and that’s what keeps me going.
My most recent surgery, just two months ago, left me with some lasting effects, but I’m grateful to still be here—and incredibly proud of the strength my mom has shown throughout all these years.
