We are delighted to inaugurate, alongside our cherished friend Jon Rahm, the new ‘Golf Garden’ at the Niño Jesús Hospital. This special area allows our Aladina children to partake in golf whenever they desire.
The ‘Golf Garden,’ crafted by Ramón Barrenechea, was developed with an investment of 60,000 euros and is accessible to all the hospital’s patients, all pediatric. Additionally, this space will be exclusively utilized several times a week for golf lessons for the cancer patients Aladina cares for.
Spanning roughly 800 square meters, the installation features holes with diverse designs and gradients, all aimed at making the hospitalized children feel as if they are on a real golf course.
The construction of the ‘Golf Garden’ was possible thanks to the support from Irish businessman J.P. McManus, Jon Rahm, and Ramón Barrenechea. It was the result of the collaboration between the Hospital Niño Jesús, the Aladina Foundation, the Jon Rahm Golf for Kids Foundation, the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, Callaway, and Sport Five.
This is the third occasion Jon Rahm has selected Aladina as the beneficiary organization of his foundation, working alongside us to enable the children with cancer under Aladina’s care to experience the joys and benefits of golf.
Our President, Paco Arango, together with golfer Jon Rahm, the manager of Niño Jesús Hospital, Julio Zarco, the president of the Madrid Golf Federation, Gonzaga Escauriaza, the General Director of Humanization of the Community of Madrid, Celia García Menéndez, and our Director of Hospitals, Lorena Díez, officially opened this new children’s putting green at HNJ.
