Put on your helmet, work begins on the new La Paz Day Hospital

Nuevo Hospital de Día de La Paz

The Aladina Foundation has begun a much-needed project that in a few months will transform a space in La Paz Hospital into a renovated Paediatric Oncohaematology Day Hospital. The current area, besides being too small, is in urgent need of a more patient- and family-friendly refurbishment.

The lack of light and space makes the hours spent in hospital even longer. For this reason, we are going to create a new area that is friendly, comfortable, bright and adapted to the needs of the more than 500 children with cancer and their families who pass through these facilities every year, attended to in the more than 4,000 annual consultations at the Day Hospital.

The new Paediatric Oncohematology Day Hospital at La Paz is an essential project with a budget of 1,250,000 euros. Your help is essential to make this project a reality.

What does the refurbishment and adaptation of the La Paz Day Hospital consist of?

This new Aladina intervention covers 800 square metres full of light to provide better care for children with cancer.

It will have two day hospital areas: one dedicated to transplant patients and the other for onco-haematological patients; both areas will have isolation boxes for the most delicate patients.

It also includes two waiting rooms, one for transplant patients and another room with two separate areas for onco-haematological patients and contagious patients.

In addition, this work includes:

  • Secretariat
  • Medical management room
  • Meeting room
  • Air conditioning equipment room
  • Nursing rest area
  • Medication room
  • Air conditioning room

This comprehensive refurbishment will improve the quality of life for patients and their families, making their stay in hospital more pleasant. Help us and collaborate with us to make it a reality.
